Donate Goods
One particular item that everyone assumes we need is newspaper. Please DO NOT bring newspaper to donate. We already have plenty of it and more newpaper will only take up valuable space that we could use for other supplies or donations.
We are always in need of several items that keep our animals healthy and happy. If you would like to donate any of the following items, please contact us for directions to the shelter:
- Good quality DRY dog & cat food (preferably Pedigree)
- Leashes & collars
- Chew bones of all sizes
- Treats
- T&N Feed & Pet Supply giftcards (to purchase horse feed and animal food)
- Lowe's / Home Depot giftcards (to purchase kennel supplies & building materials)
- Our cats love to sleep on Kuranda Cat beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price so another cat can sleep in comfort, please click here.

Volunteer
We are always in need of loving volunteers to help care for these animals. If you are interested in lending a helping hand, there are several ways you can get involved:
- Bathing / Grooming
- Walking
- Dog Socializing
- Feeding
- General Cleaning
- Pooper Scooper (it's a dirty job but somebody has to do it!)
- Yard Work
- Construction (fences and stables)
- Mobile Adoptions
- Horse Feeding
- Horse Grooming
- Scrubbing Water Buckets
- Mucking Stalls
- Dog and/or Horse Training
- Fundraising
- PR / Special Events
- Computer Data Input

If you are interested in volunteering at APEA, please fill out the APEA volunteer application and release form. To download the forms, please click on the thumbnail below. A new window will open with the volunteer form and you can right click, then click "save picture as" to save the file onto your computer to be printed out.
Once filled out, you can bring the form to our rescue or to one of our Petsmart adoption events.

Foster Care
One of the most generous and kind acts you can do to help our animals while we attempt to find them a permanent home is to open your home to them as a foster parent. If you are truly interested in fostering an animal from our shelter, please contact us for further details.
